"The Mist" movie

Having just watched this movie today, wanted to do a quick blog on it.

I haven't watched a horror/scary movie in ages that wasn't just about blood and guts and focusing on the detail of people being butchered with no interesting story (eg hostel). I think they're pointless and just leave you feeling cringeworthy. This one actually kept me glued to it, I had a butterfly feeling in my belly most of the way through because it was creepy and tense, the kind where you keep expecting to be made to jump. Its basically about an American town that suddenly gets "attacked" by mist, where all these creatures surface, stranding a load of people in a large supermarket. It has other parts to it which made it better than alot of others out there, theres a strong aspect of religion, and how people use it against each other when faced with fear, and it also tries to teach a bit about humanity. People start turning on each other and form a divide.

The ending is one that isnt easily forgotten either, you never feel more for a character.

Anyway, if you like thrillers/horror's, then i advise this, just don't let the element of cgi spoil it for you, alot of creature movies have this.

Ciao

A little bit of Stephen King trivia for you that relates to this movie.

If anyone has read The Dark Tower series of books, you'll understand. Right at the beginning on The Mist the bloke is painting a poster of a tower, a gunslinger, and a rose.

This is "supposed to be" tying The Mist with a future movie version of The Dark Tower, as many of Stephen Kings books are referenced in this series.... Well I think it's cool anyway. :-P
